The Anders Foundation has realized that with the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020 being only 5 years away, more disabled Badminton players need to be encouraged to participate. We have thus set up a “Talent Spotting” scheme over the next 12 months to be run at the Wimbledon Racquets & Fitness Club, SW19, for children between the ages of 8 and 18. This will be run by Lorraine Brydie and Carol Bilton, both Badminton England coaches, together with other BE coaches, some former Internationals. Participants have been invited from all Surrey and South London Schools and Youth Clubs, the first session being 15th February. Young people within those age groups, with good hand-eye co-ordination, are welcome to contact the organizers (see top of first page – firstname.lastname@example.org) should they not have heard of the event through their school or other body. These sessions are free of charge and all equipment, including wheelchairs, is provided; only Badminton England qualified coaches will be available. The event is underway and any young person between the ages of 8 and 18 is most welcome; please contact email@example.com if you wish to participate. The Anders Foundation thanks Cares 4 Kids for their great support of this initiative.
